Vjosa River

Overview

The Vjosa River is one of the last wild rivers in Europe. On its 270 km long road, Vjosa flows naturally intact, characterized by  beautiful  canyons,  steep  flows,  islands  and  curves  that create wonderful ramps. What makes this river really special internationally is the fact that almost all its branches flow uninterrupted and intact, creating a living river network as something not currently the case in Europe. The main source of the Vjosa River is located in the Greek territory near the village of Vouvoussa (from which it takes its name).
