The Mausoleum of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg is located in the city of Lezhë, built on the ruins of the Saint Nicholas Church, where he was buried in 1468. The memorial honors Albania’s greatest national hero, who led a 25-year resistance against the Ottoman Empire. The structure features medieval and national symbols, serving as a site of historical and patriotic significance. Inside is a symbolic tomb of Skanderbeg, as his remains were removed by the Ottomans. Today, it stands as one of the most important cultural and historical landmarks in Albania.
