The National Gallery of Art was founded in 1954 and houses the most important visual arts in the country. The collection consists of works from the  Renaissance,  Independence  and  Socialist  Realism  periods  alongside collections  of  icons  and  a  huge  array  of  paintings,  sculptures contemporary art.
