A Unique Landmark in Shkodër. The only building in Shkodër with a medieval castle-like appearance, the English Clock Tower was funded by Lord Paget, a British nobleman who came to Albania in the late 19th century to promote Protestantism. Though built in a time when medieval styles were no longer common, the structure was designed to evoke Albania’s feudal past. Locals call it the “English Clock,” and its distinctive style and story continue to capture the interest of tourists and passers-by alike.
