The most beautiful thing to see in Argirocastro is its charming old town. As soon as you enter its streets,  you will understand why Gjirokastër is considered one of the most beautiful places in Albania and the Balkans. The old town is perched on a hill and dominates the entire valley and the surrounding mountains. Scattered everywhere you will find beautiful houses and buildings from the Ottoman era that are now artisan shops, restaurants and delightful hotels. Most of them are located in the bazaar or near it, and date back to the 17th and 19th centuries.
